Hong Kong recorded 3.8 million tourist arrivals in April, up 13 percent year-on-year, the Hong Kong Tourism Board announced on May 15.

Cumulatively, tourist arrivals for the first four months of 2025 have reached 16 million, marking a 10 percent year-on-year increase.

Data shows that non-Chinese mainland visits totaled approximately 1.03 million in April, up 14 percent year-on-year. Both short-haul and long-haul markets experienced double-digit growth in visitor numbers.

Notably, several key markets continued to show strong growth in the first four months, with Japanese, South Korean, Filipino, and Indonesian visitors increasing by over 20 percent, respectively. Visitors from Australia saw an even more significant rise, with an increase of more than 30 percent.

To attract diverse groups to the city, the tourism board has launched a new seasonal thematic promotion, "Hong Kong Cultural Beat," to showcase the city's unique traditional festivals and cultural events for visitors and locals alike.
