On August 18, the China-Europe Railway Express (Shenzhen) marked its fifth anniversary. To date, it has safely operated 878 trains, transporting more than 85,000 TEUs of goods with a total cargo value exceeding USD three billion.

This cross-border freight service has opened 27 routes, connecting 47 countries and regions, including Germany, Russia, Italy, and countries in Central Asia, covering major cargo sources across Europe and Asia. Over the past five years, it has maintained a steady frequency of four to five trains per week, helping to stabilize supply chains in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and across China.

The service works closely with platform operators, customs, and other stakeholders to address enterprises' logistics pain points.

The first China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan combined rail-road transport service has been launched to provide a one-stop logistics solution. A new trans-Caspian combined rail-sea route has cut transit times by about 20 days and significantly reduced costs for enterprises. In April, the GBA's first e-commerce express line to Europe was opened, offering efficient shipping options such as "Shenzhen-Ma?aszewicze, Poland in 12 days" and "Shenzhen-Duisburg, Germany in 17 days."

It has improved efficiency by 41% compared with regular trains. So far, it has served nearly 7,000 companies, helping products such as electronics, home appliances, and household goods from the GBA reach global markets.
