In March, the "Hengqin-Macao Harmony: Theme Exhibition on the Development of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin" was officially opened to the public with free admission at Tianmu Qintai in Hengqin. The exhibition hall is located on the second floor, covering a display area of 2,268 square meters and housing a total of 625 exhibits.
Through depictions of prosperous commerce at Shizimen and the two historical land reclamation phases on Hengqin Island, the exhibition vividly narrates the profound historical and cultural connections between Guangdong and Macao, highlighting their shared origins and deep-rooted ties.
Hengqin has undergone two large-scale land reclamation efforts: the first took place in the 1960s and 70s, and the second began in 1992, which reduced the distance between Hengqin and Macao to less than 200 meters.
The exhibition recreates several iconic platforms and key facilities that demonstrate collaborative development between Hengqin and Macao. Using a blend of Chinese and Western architectural motifs, the campus is presented through an interactive dual-screen display synchronized with a physical scale model, providing an immersive three-dimensional perspective. The actual campus covers an area of 1.09 square kilometers, making it 20 times larger than the original campus in Macao.
More than just a window into the achievements of the Cooperation Zone’s development, this exhibition stands as a vivid representation of Hengqin-Macao integration. The public is warmly welcomed to book a visit through the "横琴规划展览馆 (Hengqin Planning Exhibition Hall)" mini-program in WeChat APP.
